“The contender against Islam”

 

In 1979 he got an argument with some young men who were born again over the reality of God. He believed that God is not real basing on the argument that if God was real and merciful, how could  He allow Idi Amin’s men to kill innocent people brutally while He is doing nothing. And he said that if God of the Catholic Church is real why couldn’t He come and deal with Amin’s soldiers who were killing innocent citizens.

In 1982, after Deo’s father learnt that he crossed over to Jesus and abandoned his former religion, he chased him away from home. His father further denounced him from the family as well as the clan because he had brought an abomination to his house and the clan. He said he would no longer belong to the family since he had got a new family of the Balokole.

He was not only disowned but also lost his job at his father’s shop, and was consequently chased out of the descent house his father had given.

You shall speak Arabic

Deo was left with no other alternative but to rent a small muddy one roomed house from an old woman at Kavule just behind Kibuye police station. He suffered so much while living in this house because he had lost his job and had no income at all so he would survive on little donations from the Balokole. Deo said that after realizing that his family and friends had rejected him because of Jesus, he resorted to constant fasting and prayer which resulted to his lose of weight to the extent that people thought he was sick and would soon die.

He said that in the dream the angel of the Lord instructed him to continue praying and fasting because he had an assignment for him. Deo said the Angel of the Lord had un scrolled a scroll in his face which had  words written on it in Arabic words and He asked,

“Do you know this language?” Deo answered no. Then in the same vision he showed him millions of Muslims and told him to go and tell them to repent and get saved because they were being misled. Apostle Deo answered and told the angel that he did not know how to speak Arabic, then the angel told him “I have today turn loose your tongue, you shall speak Arabic and don’t fear for I your God will be with you.”

The plot to kill Apostle Deo fails

When Muslims realized that most of their Imams were converting to Christianity at a high rate, a plot to kill him was hatched and an assailant in the names of Abbas Luyombya was sent to go and kill the Apostle Deo. Abbas man testifies that when he came to the meeting to hear what Apostle Deo was preaching he got touched because the man was reading from the Quran and he decided to go for his Luganda version only to find that the Apostle was telling the truth not lies as the Muslims had earlier. They thought he did not understand Arabic and so he was misinterpreting the message. When Abbas read the very scripture in Sulat Mariam both the English and Luganda versions were in agreement with what the Apostle was preaching and he concluded not kill the man who was reading what is exactly in their Quran. This was how God foiled the Muslims’ plot to kill Apostle Deo.

Consequently, Abbas Luyombya the sent assailant gave his life and accept Jesus as his Lord and Personal Savior. 

Bishop Grivas Musisi

In 1994 Apostle Deo called Bishop Grivas and shared with him about God’s visitation and told him to prepare for his come back to Uganda. He immediately flew back leaving his family in Canada. On reaching Entebbe airport Apostle Deo knelt down and kissed th e ground and said,

 “Uganda will never be the same again”.

When he went to Prayer palace for the first service, he told the congregation about the Angel’s visitation while he was on his mission to USA. Apostle Deo told the church that he was back on a mission and how God had told him He will heal AIDS. No one believed him because they had seen hundreds upon hundreds dropping dead after being prayed for. Apostle Deo quoted a Scripture after Bishop Grivas had told him that these people are being paid of their bad deeds, “so let us do something else other than wasting time praying for them”. Then he replied and told him that what he was saying is true because they served a forgiving God . He quoted a scripture in 2 Chronicles 7:14

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”           

                                                                              

He also him that Jesus said in John 10:10

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:  I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

And Jeremiah 30:12-17 “For thus saith the LORD, Thy bruise is incurable, and thy wound is grievous. There is none to plead thy cause, that thou mayest be bound up:  thou hast no healing medicines.   All thy lovers have forgotten thee;  they seek thee not;  for I have wounded thee with the wound of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the multitude of thine iniquity;  because thy sins were increased. Why criest thou for thine affliction?  thy sorrow is incurable for the multitude of thine iniquity:  because thy sins were increased, I have done these things unto thee.   Therefore all they that devour thee shall be devoured;  and all thine adversaries, every one of them, shall go into captivity;  and they that spoil thee shall be a spoil, and all that prey upon thee will I give for a prey.   For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD;  because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after.”

After 160 days of fasting and prayer, the Holy Spirit led him to the city and placed posters, placards and handbills saying that the cure for AIDS is in the blood of Jesus. It was a Sunday morning and the whole city was filled with the same message and such words became a new slogan that had invaded the city with the message of hope in the blood of Jesus.

Apostle Deo was again led by God to the city to hold a crusade at the Clock Tower grounds where he invited people with every cases of disease to come and receive healing. Hundreds and hundreds throng the crusade grounds with different ailments from all over the town. This was the biggest crowd in the city which they had ever witnessed.

During these meetings after preaching the Salvation messages with people repenting and receiving Christ as their Lord and Savior, Apostle Deo would then invite those with HIV AIDS with their documents which showed they were infected to come be prayed for. He could not accept to pray for anyone who had no medical documents to show they are infected with HIV.

After praying for them he would ask them to go back to the very doctors to check whether HIV AIDS was still in their blood.

At times the meeting would begin at 5 pm up to 4 am as people were listening to the gospel as well as being prayed for. During these days, even most churches stopped holding evening services.

                                                                                        

So when the police saw that people had become uncontrollable they issued a notice that people were no longer controllable so they should go back to their respective churches.

This was a meeting of its kind in Uganda. They had never witnessed a crusade lasting for five months yet growing bigger and bigger every single day. He was the catchy for the media and at one time The New Vision newspaper wrote a lengthy article on Apostle Deo and his ministry.
